Administrative and Regulatory Law
Being a homebuilder takes passion and courage. Passion to ignite your clients’ dreams, courage to take risks every day that will bring those dreams to life. It’s easy to get lost in administrative compliance and regulatory requirements, whether you build five homes a year, or five hundred. The laws and regulations around homebuilding, zoning and consumer protection in Ontario are a labyrinth that, when not respected, can slow you down – or shut you down.
At Capannelli Law, we regularly assist vendor-builders of new home construction
in Ontario before, during, and after the build. We help you obtain all necessary approvals under the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act and its Regulations and avoid downtime and non-compliant operations.
We represent our clients before the License Appeal Tribunal, and the courts, in appealing regulatory refusals, or unreasonable terms and conditions, when negotiations fail.
In cases where there has been illegal building and/or a failure to enroll a home with the Plan, we are experienced at successfully representing vendor-builders charged under the Provincial Offences Act.
Contact us to get trusted and experienced counsel working for you, and avoid the missteps that can cause your business serious problems.
We would be pleased to meet with you in our Toronto office, or at a mutually convenient location in the GTA. For clients outside Toronto, video conferencing is available upon request
